The first time I checked the guinea pig babies, it looked like we had three girls and one boy. After a lot of back and forth, we agreed to take the boy back to the pet store that sold us the pregnant piggy, and keep the girls. Much to my chagrin, when we rechecked earlier this week, they all looked like boys. I felt so stupid, but then I remembered that a breeder made the same mistake, I was going to buy a texel back in Oct. They lady told me it was a female at first, then she had to email me again and say it looked like a male.
Anyway, we took all four babies to the pet store, and two employees there confirmed them to be boys. Mayra did pretty well, she started to cry, but stopped. We kept Spotty, her favorite, but he has to be caged separate from the females.
We went to Build a Bear yet again because Mayra was so good about giving up the piggies. My allergies and the odor control prevented us from being able to keep them.
We both had a busy week. It was bring a bear to school week. Mayra loves animals, and loves plushies, but for some reason is juts not into bears, so she didn't take one. They were watching a hibernating bear on a web cam (she gave birth to a cub yesterday!) Dramatic play had been turned into "hibernation station." They made mini clay bears, and created pretend dens for them to hibernate in. They also discussed other animals that hibernate.
My week? Two school tours and lots of paper pushing at work. Not too many customers, the economy is still an enigma.
