Maybe I get annoyed too easily...

Hmmm. Somehow when I signed Mayra up for dance class, I didn't read the class description correctly, because last week we showed up with no tap shoes. Oooh, I was in serious doo-doo with my kid. They have loaners at the studio, but none fit Mayra's feet.
We came home, and while Mayra was in the bath I got online and ordered a pair toot sweet, because I knew we wouldn't have any time to shop locally for them. Silly me, I asked Mayra if she wanted "shiny black" or "regular black." What five year old is going to turn down anything shiny?
The shoes came in a day or two, and they even fit.
Don't ask me why, but I went back on the website to see whether or not I'd forgotten anything else. Much to my chagrin, the dance studio asks for NO PATENT LEATHER.
I sent a polite email asking if Mayra could wear her shiny shoes to class and I would get the correct shoes for shows.
Answer: NO. Patent leather tap shoes are inferior. They don't flex as well and the taps are inferior.
So I had to pack up shiny shoes, send them back and reorder non-shiny ones. The exact same shoes, with exact same taps, just not shiny.
What do you think happened tonight? Last week there were only three girls in the class, this week there was one more. What was she wearing?
SHINY tie-on tap shoes, rather than the "essential" non-shiny mary janes.
Oy.
