Stick-to-it-tiveness isn't one of my strong points. I tend to give up on various things pretty easily.
Mayra, on the other hand, never gives up. For more or less the whole time we have lived in our current house, she has been angling to sleep in my room.
She showed up at about 2am last night. I honestly don't think she was feeling well, and I do have to admit I didn't feel like getting up, so I let her climb into my bed. She was quiet, and relatively still, but didn't sleep long without needed some OTC for her runny nose. I know it's not fashionable to give kids OTC decongestants, but it does seem to help. She went back to her own room on her own, I was grateful because I just can't sleep when she's in my room, a by-product of a chronically single lifestyle. It was about 3:30am, and I did manage to get a little sleep.
Tonight, she was reminding me what a good girl she was when she was sleeping in my bed. I told her she has to sleep in her own bed. I feel like a turd, but I need my sleep.
