Academy of Natural Sciences

Mayra missed the whole week at daycare, but was finally feeling better by Saturday.

She had some library books nearing their due date, so we went to the library. I had hoped we could also go to Glasgow Park, but in was raining buckets by the time we left.

Sunday the weather looked better, so I asked Mayra if she would like to go to the Park, and then to Miss Maria's for french toast. I was waiting for the weather to warm up, when out of the blue Mayra indicated she would rather do something else. We chatted a bit, I got on the internet to see what was open, and we decided to drive up to Philadelphia to see the Academy of Natural Sciences. I only got slightly lost on the way in, so I felt good. Parking was $20, good grief. But the lot attendant gave me good directions back to 95, so that was good.

The Museum was fun. They had a mock fossil dig set up, so Mayra played paleontologist for a while. There was a zoologist in the kids area who brought out several animals for the kids to see up close.
