fleeting moments

Life goes by so fast, I have noticed if I don't write stuff down right away, I forget all the amazingly cute things Mayra does.
We went fishing on Saturday, it was a big bust. I wasn't really expecting Mayra to like it, because she is only 3 after all, and once she realized that you don't catch a big fish every time you drop the hook in the water she was ready to find something else do do. She went wading, and had a paddle boat ride with Dad and played in the sand left behind by the foundation guys. Framing may start this week or next.
Before I became a parent, I was worried about how well I would do with children's programming. I'm OK with most of what Mayra watches, but I try desperately to avoid BARNEY and OOBI. I was worried about Teletubbies, but much to my surprise I sort of like that one. They always show kids doing different activities, that's where Mayra got the idea about yoga class.
Yoga Class for a 3 yr old evidently is a Holy Grail around here. I haven't found one yet. I've been turned down by two teachers, one starts with age 5, the other age 8. Dover Y has a summer course called Yoga Connection that is open to all ages, it is at 6:30 pm on Fridays and that's not good for me in the summer. I am hoping they will offer it again in the Fall.
The other night the kids on Tubbies were doing Flamenco dancing. Mayra "danced" right along. The first night she put on her hula skirt, then decided it wasn't right for the dance. The next night she was grabbing the sides on her jammies and trying to swish them side to side like a flamenco skirt.
