girlie girl Saturday

Mayra had her riding lesson as usual this morning. Much to my surprise, even without a helper Miss Pam unhooked the lead line for much of the class, then used a lunge line for trotting, and they even did a short bareback walk with the lead line but without the extra helper.
Hmmmmm. Mayra wants a horse and I keep telling her she needs to be able to ride on her own, and shovel a pile of horse poo. I really thought that would buy me years of time. I had resigned myself to the idea that she would still be on a lead line for at least one more year or even longer.
After riding we drove back to Middletown to see if Mayra could get her hair and nails done at La Petite Spa, but I had trouble reaching them by phone and they couldn't take us as a walk in, so we ended up someplace else. She got her favorite blue nail polish at a nail salon, then we both got our hair trimmed up at Hair Cuttery. Mayra has so much hair, it nearly took the lady forever to curl her hair, she looks like a latina Shirley Temple.
I was all psyched to go to Quiznos for lunch, but they were closed, so we ended up sharing chicken fried rice at the Golden Rooster. Mayra loved pouring her own tea.
Later we had Italian food delivered at my Mom's house. If you are ever looking for someplace to eat near New Castle, give Arrienzo's a shot. They have yummy pizza and pasta. The restaurant used to have a different name, but a local chain threaten to sue because they thought the first name was too similar to theirs, so this small business had to go through the expense of changing their name and printing new menus.
Mayra is having a sleepover with Mom so I decided to do something wild and crazy and went to the grocery store.
