The weather was delicious this weekend. Too beautiful to describe.
Dad decided we could indeed take the boat out. He wanted to get it off the boat lift and onto the trailer for the winter anyway.
He had thought high tide would be at mid-day, so our first situation was we get there at low tide instead, and it's difficult to use the boat lift at low tide. So we play around and wait a bit for the tide to come in, only to get ON THE BOAT before we discover the life jackets aren't on the boat.
After pondering the options a bit, Dad decides he can entertain Mayra while I make the drive back to New Castle to retrieve the life jackets. Nearly 3 hours later, we finally are under way on the boat. It was a lot of driving, but since it was out last chance to be out on the boat for the season, it was worth it. It is so gorgeous down there. Of course, there are duck blinds all over the place, so I'm guessing it would be a good idea to stay away from the area during hunting season.
Mayra fell asleep before we came in.
