After we left Betterton, we went to the building lot to visit with Dad. They have the boat dock done, and the block foundation for the new house is in place. Mayra had nearly as much fun on their "beach" as she did at Betterton.
Heaven help me, this kid is convinced she wants to go fishing, so next time I think we will have to schlepp some fishing gear with us, and we will see how much she likes fishing then.
The new neighbors seem like they will be really nice. The man came next door to show Mayra a fairly large blue crab he had caught in a trap off of his dock. He also says you can catch catfish or I think perch or maybe pike down that way.
I forgot to mention, Mayra's betta fish bit the dust last week or the week before. Mom hadn't managed to dispose of the evidence before Mayra saw it, she asked Mom what was up with the fish, and Mom tried to tell her the fish was taking a nap. Mayra said "well it looks like it's dead to me."
I've been letting her watch Aqua Kids since we will be going to Sea World in September. Some mornings I can put on a program for her, then dash off to shower and or dress. One day last week I didn't want to leave her alone in front of the TV because they were planning on cutting up fish to feed to sharks. Skeeved me out a bit, but Mayra didn't care. It was sorta funny that they were saying some of the fish at the market were OK for human consumption, but not fresh enough for the sharks.
